The Tulane City Center has had an ongoing relationship with the LSU AgCenter, an organization which helps people in hurricane-affected areas of Louisiana navigate the Road Home program. The Road Home program is the largest single housing recovery program in U.S. history. The program’s objective is to provide compensation to Louisiana homeowners affected by Hurricanes Katrina or Rita for the damage to their homes.

The City Center worked with the LSU AgCenter to help homeowners understand the Road Home program and their options for rebuilding. One of the key pieces of this rebuilding information is the identification and brief write-up of “Success Stories.” These Success Stories include profiles of residents, their successful experiences rebuilding their homes, and resources, ideas, and strategies that are useful to people rebuilding. The information provided in these reports was used by the LSU AgCenter to develop more extensive articles for publication on their website. The TCC also worked with the AgCenter to set up events and acted as a consultant for other portions of their Road Home contract.
