University/Community Design Partnerships

University/Community Design Partnerships (UCDP) take on many forms at the Tulane City Center, from small design/build projects, to pre-design project definition and analysis, to site design and planning. Each project however, also shares common structural elements, specifically that a TSA faculty member plays the coordinating role and is supported by a small group of students. The majority of these projects are grant funded and occur outside of the curriculum, however there are circumstances where a given project satisfies the public service and/or independent studies requirements for a student. UCDP projects are the most flexible and responsive mechanism we have at the TCC to mobilize the skills and knowledge of faculty and student body in support of community based organizations across New Orleans.
