Road Home Success Stories
The City Center has an ongoing relationship with the LSU Ag Center, an organization which helps people in hurricane effected areas of Louisiana navigate the Road Home program. The Road Home program is the largest single housing recovery program in U.S. history. The program’s objective is to provide compensation to Louisiana homeowners affected by Hurricanes Katrina or Rita for the damage to their homes.
The City Center works with LSU’s Ag Center to help homeowners understand the Road Home program, and their options of rebuilding. One of the key pieces of this rebuilding information is the identification and brief write-up of ‘Success Stories’. These Sucess Stories include profiles of people and their successful rebuilding of homes and resources, ideas, and strategies that are useful to people rebuilding. The information provided in these reports are used by the LSU Ag Center to develop more extensive articles for publishing on their website.
The TCC also works with the Ag Center to set up events, and acts as a consultant for other portions of their Road Home contract.
