Builders of Hope Mapping

Builders of Hope is currently undertaking a historic and ambitious effort to move over 100 houses in New Orleans’ Mid City that were slated for demolition to make way for a new Veterans Administration Hospital. Orleans Shoring is moving the homes from their original location to properties across the city which are currently empty. Builders of Hope is coordinating the effort and has teamed up with numerous non-profits and the City of New Orleans to find new locations for the homes, and will give the relocated homes a sustainable renovation. The Tulane City Center is helping Buidlers of Hope to track, map, and document this large scale move of a historic neighborhood.
