The Mardi Gras Indians partnered with Tulane City Center and Louisiana State University to advance their presence in Central City. We were able to continue this work because of a grant made possible by the Foundation for Louisiana.

In brief, our team produced a thorough analysis of Central City, Lasalle Street, and a (Mardi Gras Indian purchased) shotgun in its context. From this analysis, we then made educated decisions toward the most effective locations for design intervention. These ranged from temporal to permanent designs to propose how the Mardi Gras Indians might create a presence year round.  In July we held two Design and Development meetings to gain feedback on these proposals.
