PARTNER ORGANIZATION
The purpose of Growing Local is to build a farm facility in downtown New Orleans that combines innovative recirculation farming with certain aspects of traditional soil growing to provide a center for research, training, and demonstration of how these techniques can contribute to rebuilding a sustainable, healthy food culture throughout the U.S. With an overwhelming lack of affordable, accessible, healthy, fresh food in many communities nationwide, the need for this project is significant.

TCC ENGAGEMENT
Work on the Growing Local project was led by Tulane professor Tiffany Lin, with members of LSU’s Landscape Architecture program, Elizabeth Mossop and Wes Michaels, and community partners from New Orleans Food and Farm Network and Recirculating Farms Coalition.
